It Got Cold and White

Well, now that it is officially winter, and has been for a month, snow officially dumped on us and I officially got a cold, which has lasted over a week.

The first batch of snow came last Tuesday, I believe, and then the rest came all last Thursday. I woke up around 9ish and, I could barely see it unless I was right up close to the window, this super fine snow was steadily falling...and continued to the entire day! When I went to go pick up the girls from school, I was shocked at how deep it already was. I don't have proper snow boots to really "play" in, but the ones I have should suffice. Here's some photos of Hollabrunn from last Friday afternoon. I don't know the final count of how much we got, but it was a hefty amount.

Walking home from school one of the days, I made up a song about how I love snow but hate slush. The girls thought it was hilarious and started singing along. It was pretty fun :) However, dealing with all the wet shoes and coats and hats and wet everything else in the entryway is not super fun. At all.

Since I wasn't feeling the greatest, I've been spending a lot of time reading. I started a new book, The Help, which is so so good. I saw the movie and really enjoyed it; the book has my attention to the same extent if not more. To go along with that, I'm still reading that Lucas book explaining some of the crazy cool paradoxes of our Amazing Creator God. The last one I finished reading about was how God knows all things, but yet forgets our sin after we repent and ask for forgiveness. God can choose not to know things. And what is so awesome is that God uses his power to limit his knowledge/forget things for our sake - so we can be in a right relationship with Him! How awesome is that!?!? What's more, is that we need not wait to confess and repent of the sins that weigh us down because he wants to forget about our sins. He's ready and waiting to erase our sins and make us as white as snow.

Lord, please give me humility and meekness and a surrendering heart that is always running towards you.
Amen.
